Free purchase register: every supplier bill, its GST and what you still owe
Enter each supplier bill once, with its items and GST, and keep a photo of the paper bill with it. You get a purchase register for any dates (CGST, SGST and IGST split, ready for your accountant), a debit note when goods go back, and a list of what you owe each supplier and since when. Free, no login, and it stays in this browser.
How to use the purchase book
- Add your business once. Your name, address, GSTIN and state are typed once in My data. The state decides whether a bill has CGST and SGST or IGST.
- Enter the supplier bill. "Purchase bill" asks for the supplier, their GSTIN, the bill number and date, the due date and each item with HSN, quantity, rate and GST rate. The supplier and the items are saved, so next time they fill in as you type.
- Say how it was paid. Leave "Paid now?" on credit if you will pay later, or pick cash, UPI, bank or cheque to record the payment with the bill.
- Keep a photo of the bill. Take a picture with your phone. It is made smaller and kept with the bill, so the paper copy is never the only copy.
- Goods going back? "Purchase return" takes the items you sent back and the original bill number. Print a debit note from the register to send with the goods.
- Check the register and the dues. "Purchase register" lists every bill and return between two dates with GST totals, as a printout, PDF or CSV. "Dues › To pay" shows each supplier's unpaid bills by age.
What it does for you
- Purchase register with GST: taxable value, CGST, SGST and IGST for every bill, returns as minus amounts, and totals for the period.
- Photo of the supplier bill: saved with the entry and opened with one tap from the register.
- Debit note for returns: a printed debit note with the items, GST and the original bill number, ready to send to the supplier.
- Supplier dues: what you owe each supplier, bill by bill, with 0–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ day columns.
- Pay against bills: "Money paid" ticks the supplier's oldest bills first; part payments and advances are kept.
- Same data as the app: it is the purchase part of the free Nivesh Sahayak App, so the cash book, expense book and GST pages use the same bills.
One set of books, many doors
Purchase is one part of the free Nivesh Sahayak App. Everything you enter here is kept in this browser on this device, in the same data home as the app and every Nivesh Sahayak document maker (my.niveshsahayak.in). Bills made on the billing site show up here by themselves, and entries made here show up in the app. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us.

Questions people ask
Is this purchase register really free?
Yes. There is no login, no fee and no limit on suppliers or bills. It runs in your browser and your data stays on your device.
Does it file GSTR-3B or fetch GSTR-2B for me?
No. It does not connect to the GST portal. It keeps your purchase bills and GST in order and prints the register, so you or your accountant can match it with GSTR-2B and file the return.
Can I enter a bill without GST?
Yes. Tick "No GST on this bill" for purchases from unregistered or composition suppliers. For purchases under reverse charge from unregistered suppliers, make a self invoice on self-invoice.niveshsahayak.in; it shows in this register too.
Where is the photo of the bill kept?
In this browser, with the bill entry, after it is made smaller. It is not uploaded anywhere. It goes into your backup file, so keep a backup to have the photos on another device.
How do I pay a supplier against a bill?
Open "Money in and out" and choose "Money paid", or press "Record payment" on the bill. It ticks the oldest unpaid bills of that supplier first; change the ticks if you are paying a particular bill.
Can my accountant use the register?
Yes. Print it, share it as a PDF, or download it as a CSV file that opens in Excel, for any dates you choose.
